My S.M.A.R.T. Plan

Set a realistic and achievable long term goal using the S.M.A.R.T plan discussed in class. Make sure you include detailed sentences that explain what you will do and how you will go about it. It will also be important to state why the actions taken at each step of the process are important - how will help you achieve your long term goal?

WEEK 7

Year 8

The Healthy Lunch Box

Design and create a healthy lunchbox (and eat it!). Analyse the contents using the nutritional information provided in class (1 page report to be handed in when lunchbox is viewed)

WEEK 8

Please note that these dates are only to be used as a guide. Individual teachers will assign exact dates for the submission of tasks and students should record the due date in their school diary

Practical Assessment of skills is competency based and occurs throughout the duration of each unit.

Students will be assessed on their technical skill in both practice and competition situations. They will also be graded on their knowledge of the rules, their ability to communicate effectively and work as a productive member of a team and class member.

Students are required to bring a change of sports gear for practical lessons. School uniforms do not allow freedom of movement and school shoes provide insufficient support during running and team games activities. While a grade is not formally awarded for uniform, staff are required to report on a students organisation skills in half yearly and yearly reports. All students are required to come fully equiped to both practical and theory lessons. Students registering THREE occasions of out-of-uniform will be issued with a letter of concern. This policy is to alert parents that their child is finding it difficult to organise themselves for school and may need some assitance!

Yr 7 - Artefacts Task

During Term 1 all Yr 7 students developed an artefact collection. Students had to decide on four to five items that reflected who they were and provide a descriptive piece of writing that explained the importance of each item. This activity was a fun way to explore a student's sense of self and provided a great opportunity for students to get to know fellow students!
